Decorated cloth boards, with illustrations on front and spine (tiny rubs on corners) Remains of presentation prize plate on front paste down endpaper, and a little light spotting, else internally neat, bright, clean and tight. Binding strong and stable. With an original flyer . advertising slip for the book laid in, giving a brief summary of the story. Natalie Joan (the pen name of Natalie Joan Englebert, nee Davy) was founder of Moffats prep school and author of fiction and poetry for very young and for older children, including such works as The Hunter Children (1922), Jess of Top Farm (1924), The Forest Children (1927), and Three for Luck (1935), as well as two titles in the Ameliaranne series created by Constance HEWARD. A hard to find title now, especially with the lovely additional of the elegant publisher's slip.
