146pp with numerous line drawings throughout, all by Garth Williams. Grey-green cloth-covered boards (a little worn at edges, a small mark). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight, barring very mild spotting/foxing on fore-edge only. In its original illustrated dust jacket (a little chapped at edges, with a couple of bumps and chips,'55' written neatly on front inner flap). Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Margery Sharp's second fantasy for children (and their parents) a sequel to The Rescuers.
