Two volumes. First editions, first printings (true firsts). 56 & 42pp, lightly illustrated with sketches and line drawings. Card covers (a little rubbed at edges). Very gentle edge wear. These two books by J K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, were written under the Wizard author's names of Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) & Kennilworthy Whisp (Quidditch Through the Ages) to be sold in aid of Comic Relief in March 2001. Published by Bloomsbury in association with Whizz Hard Books of Diagon Alley. They sold out almost immediately. Both Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and Quidditch Through The Ages have number lines running down to 1. Subsequent, perhaps more luxurious, editions have been produced, but these are the true collectors' items being not only the first to market, but also being sold to raise money for good works. 12mo.
