238pp, with absolutely magnificent black and white in-text illustrations and a plate frontispiece (tissue-guarded). Red cloth-covered boards with gilt decorations on spine and gilt lettering on spine. Spine ends gently rubbed. Front corners gently rounded. Minor shelfwear on front; couple of small marks on verso. Slightly cocked. All edges gilt. Black endpapers. Gutter strained between front endpapers. First signature a little loose. A truly lovely volume of a classic children's novel, with the Tenniel illustrations which have become ubiquitous. 12mo.
