Likely an advance readers' copy of Jean Genet's semi-autobiographical novel recounting the author's experiences as he progresses through Europe in a depoliticised 1930s, structured around his homesexual encounters with various criminals and con artists. Possibly a late proof. Wrapped in green card, punched through and interlaced with red fabric ribbon. The leaves appear to be photographic reproductions of proof pages. Wrappers a little faded, toned at edges and some mild marks. Mild rubbing at edges, internally neat and clean. Oblong 8vo. A rare but likely not unique item.
