8pp booklet in strong, canvas-lined covers. Covers a little rubbed at edges, mild fold/warp. Until 1930, driving licences were issued by local authorities - counties or county boroughs - using a variety of designs, the only common features being those mandated by Act The Road Traffic Act 1930 standardized the design and layout of UK driving licences - a format which was retained until the late 1970s. Licence slips, usually valid for four years, were pasted into the licence by the issuing local authority. This licence has one slip pasted in by Canterbury County Borough Council, valid from 1971 to 1974, allowing one Colin Eric Jones of Glenside Avenue, Canterbury, to drive motor vehicles in a range of groups.
