Collection of Three Booklets Relating to the History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). The first is The Book of the Mormon: An Account of its Origins, With Evidences of Its Genuineness and Authenticity comprises of Two Lectures by Dr James E Talmage, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1911 until this death in 1911. The booklet appears to date from approximately 1920. In these lectures, also published in Articles of Faith, Talmage provides a detail account of The Book of the Mormon, its origins, the plates in the Book, its translations, evidence of its authenticity, prophecies regarding The Book of the Mormon etc. (46pp, stapled booklet, 12mo, paper covers tanned, creased and detached, with small nick near spine, some pages have corner creases but else internally clean and tidy). The second is Joseph Smith Tells His Own Story, an abridged version of Smith's extensive and detailed history of the most important events leading to the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The booklet appears to date from around 1900 (26pp illustrated booklet, 12mo, in printed paper wrappers, wrappers detached, chapped at edges, a little toned, some signs of fingering throughout). The third is The Purpose of the Temple by David O' McKay and comprises remarks he made at the dedication of the Swiss Temple, the first of the Church's temples to be built outside of the North America in 1955 (8pp folded booklet, 16mo, in printed paper wrappers; wrappers have some rusting at edges and some flat creases, internally some signs of fingers, else neat and clean).
