xii, 286pp, with a monochrome plate frontispiece and numerous portrait drawings of the poets represented. In green cloth boards with gilt lettering on front and spine (boards rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips, a little rubbed on lower edge, white mark and call number on spine). With a presentation bookplate on front paste down, indicating the volume was presented to The American Library in Paris in 1924; and a contemporary review of the book tipped in on the front free endpaper. Library lending sheet on rear free endpaper and other library markings on rear paste down; Library perforated stamp on title page, else internally neat and clean. A remarkable collection of Negro poetry, including some more obscure poets, with pen portraits and brief biographies of the poets represented, published during the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. A hard to find title.
