First English language edition (previously published in the original Dutch). 264pp, maps to endpapers, illustrated in black and white. In brown cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering (very slightly rounded at spine base). Internally neat, clean and bright. Squarely and firmly bound. In its original dust jacket (lightly bumped on edges; small, repaired nick on upper leading corner). In September 1944, Wing Commander Guy Gibson's plane crashed near Steenbergen in Holland. He was not identified for some time, and buried in a nearby cemetery. Gibson was one of the three famous commanders of the Dam Busters. This is the story of the Dam Raid, and of the relationship between Gibby and his wife Eve, and of what happened after his death.
