The is a presentation plate from Dr Letai, Lilley's control, on the front free endpaper. In its original dust jacket (a little bruising around spine, with small mild stain at base of spine, a little shelf wear). William Henry Lilley was a leading trance healer who, together with his control, Dr Letari, developed distance healing. Lilley's healing powers were considered exceptional, on a par with W T Parish and Harry Edwards. After the war, he moved to South Africa, where he was tried for practicing medicine illegally; he won the case, becoming a key factor in the acceptance of homeopathic remedies. A popular work at the time of its first publication in 1940, it went through several reprints but has now become hard to find.
