A new edition. Undated but circa 1871 (preface dated 1871). 760pp plus 33pp publisher's catalogue at rear. In green cloth boards with blind and gilt decorations, matching green endpapers, 12 colour plate engravings and numerous further plate and in text monochrome engravings. A poor condition copy offered for rebinding. Boards heavily rubbed, especially at edges, frayed all around a worn and cracked backstrip and detached. First few pages loose, with consequential edge damage. Some mild signs of old water damage on front endpapers. Occasional faint spotting. A hard to find title, a companion to the more common Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management. Chuncky 8vo.
