1852-7. 28pp, 32pp, 32pp, 32pp, 28pp, 36pp, 32pp, 28pp, 32pp, 28pp, 32pp, 24pp. Twelve booklets, each including a double spread map, with some additional maps, bound in one, separately paginated, each published between 1852 and 1857. Some attributed to Williams Hughes, others are anonymous but likely by the same hand and written in the same style. Quarter bound in red leather over marbled boards with gilt rules and lettering on spine. 24mo. Boards worn, rubbed around edges, scuffed boards, cracked around spine joints, rubbed with minor loss at spine tips, apparent repair to reattach leather at head of spine. Previous owner's name and stamp neatly on front endpapers. Endpapers mildly toned. A couple of the maps stand proud of the text block and therefore have damage at page fore edge, else internally, neat, clean, bright and tight. Provides fascinating insight into geography and political divisions of the world as it was in the early 19th century. Very hard to find.
