1st edition, 1st printing. xii, 200pp, with tipped in colour frontispiece, four further tipped in colour illustrations and further illustrations and figures in text. In brown cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 4to. Upper text block edge has some very mild dust marking. In its original dust jacket, a little bumped along upper edge. A detailed study of a closed collection of around 1000 books published between 1474 and 1760, including eight manuscripts from the Abbey of Bury St Edmunds. A handsome, generously produced volume.
