First edition. 174pp, 16pp publisher's adverts. 96 or 97 illustrations, blue pages. Red cloth-covered boards; black design and titles on front, black titles on spine; top text block edge sprayed in gilt. 12mo. Sun-faded spine, moderate wear to extremities, front board faded, stained and soiled at edges. Text block edges dusty; fore and lower edges untrimmed. Endpapers lightly foxed. Internally gutter is cracked midway, binding loose, pages slightly tanned at edges otherwise neat, clean and bright. A delightful collection of light-hearted Ghost Tales starting with 'It was Christmas Eve'.
