Undated (circa 1950s) 352pp, 16 black and white plates. Red cloth-covered boards; gilt titles on spine, 3 line drawn maps. 8vo. Very lightly rubbed spine ends, corners heavily rubbed and rounded. Text block edges lightly tanned, front endpapers starting to tan. Internally very neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has light shelf wear, chipping and tears to edges, water stain to rear, not price clipped. Spanning nearly two-thousand years of discovery and exploration, it brings the rich and colourful history of Africa to life.
