A BBC Publications buff portfolio of various documents from the late 1950s providing instructions and patterns for dress-making, of fashions of the time, with black and white photographs of the finished items. The portfolio was obtainable from the BBC by postal application and includes 13 patterns, and a separate section of classy photographs of the finished clothes. Also includes are 12 'pull out' supplements from the Radio Times, dated between 1957 and 1959, on Quick and Easy Dress-making, with further patterns and instructions. Folio. The photographs illustrate the garments then being demonstrated by Diana Crutchley in the Quick and Easy Dressmaking programmes shown on BBC TV between October 1956 and March 1957. The portfolio is worn, creased and rubbed on corners and spine ends, where there are a couple of short cracks, with some marks and staining. The string binding is fragile but holding. The contents are little dog-eared and the supplements are thin with a little edge toning and some edge damage.
