First edition, first printing. xvi, 112pp, plus 267 monochrome plate illustrations. In plain blue cloth-covered boards with black titles on front and gilt lettering on spine. Large folio. Boards are worn, rubbed through and rounded on corners and spine ends, with a few mild marks. Front hinge and frontispiece gutter cracked, toned and spotted on endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Hussey's 1931 work on the Scottish architect remains the foremost and most comprehensive account of Lorimer's work as a country house architect, furniture designer and the architect of the Scottish National War Memorial in Edinburgh. A hard to find volume.
