First edition, first printing. 134pp, with occasional line drawings and page decorations. Bound in beige cloth-covered boards with red titles on front and spine. Top edge sprayed red. 12mo. Boards slightly rubbed and rounded at spine tips; spotted in margins and over spine. Some toning on endpapers and, mildly, in margins of first and last few leaves. Mackinlay Kantor (born Benjamin McKinlay Kantor), 1904-1977, was an American journalist, screenwriter and novelist, writing more than thirty novels, several set during the American Civil War. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his 1955 novel, Andersonville.
