First UK edition, first printing. 304pp. Bound in blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards lightly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, cloth faded along top edge. Internally some faint and occasional spotting on first and last few pages, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, rubbed and a little chipped on lower edge, chapped on upper edges with some loss along top edge, toning around rear leading edge. In this volume, renown novelist Kantor turns from his usual genre to pen his reflections and recollections of his childhood. Mackinlay Kantor (born Benjamin McKinlay Kantor), 1904-1977, was an American journalist, screenwriter and novelist, writing more than thirty novels, several set during the American Civil War. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his 1955 novel, Andersonville. We have many of his novels and other works in stock - please inquire for discounts if considering ordering more than one title.
