Not dated but circa 1940. vi, 944, 292 [10]pp. Bound in full black goatskin leather with gilt titles, yapped edges, satin ribbon maker bound in, jet black endpapers, decorative head and tail bands, all edges gilt. Printed on Bible paper, with 10 pages of coloured maps of scripture lands at rear. 12mo. In fine condition throughout. Presented in its original box, which is a little worn, rubbed lightly on edges, a few mild marks, crack around thumb cut. Vintage prayer card, showing the figure above the altar in St John's Church in St John's Wood, London, loosely laid into box. A beautiful and practical Bible, in exquisite condition.
