Undated but circa 1900. Volume XIV of the 25 volume Large Type Border edition of Scott's Waverley Novels. liv, 680pp, plus monochrome plate frontispiece and 9 further like illustrations. Quarter bound in black leather over blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Top edge gilt, other edges deckled. 8vo. Cloth rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a little worn at edges, small area of light mottling around upper leading corner. Endpapers lightly toned, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Handsome volume. With introductory essay and notes by Andrew Lang.
