Reprint (of 1911 first edition). 490pp, tissue-guarded frontispiece, plus some black and white plate illustrations, numerous further drawings in text. In decorative green cloth-covered boards, with titles front and spine. 8vo. Cloth rubbed at spine ends, boards gently rounded at corners and spine ends, a little worn all over but still attractive. Text block edges a little toned. Endpapers only a little tanned. Small paper scar on front paste down endpaper, else internally fresh, clean, and firm. A gentle and thoughtful introduction to gardening and horticulture aimed at those with average sized plots around their houses, based on a series of articles which the author wrote, under the title 'Saturday in My Garden' in the Daily Express. Lovely vintage volume, presenting traditional methods and age-old wisdom on home gardening.
