Undated but circa 1780. iv, 372pp, [12]. Bound in full calf's leather with gilt embellishments on spine. 12mo. Boards heavily worn, rubbed all round edges, scuffed and marked, cracked along spine joints, fraying at spine ends, gilding heavily faded. Text block edges darkened. Hinges cracked. Inscription on marked and rubbed front free endpaper, where the top corner has been trimmed. Previous owner's name inked at top of title page. Occasional toning and spotting throughout. A collection of the first 80 issues of the daily The Spectator, from its first issue on 1 Mach 1711 to issue 80.
