320pp, black and white frontispiece. Red cloth-covered boards, blue titles on spine, 8vo. Sun-faded boards and spine, rubbed spine ends, boards mottled, bottom edges a little bumped. Text block edges tanning and foxing. Bookseller's label on front pastedown, endpapers just starting to fox and tan. Volume a little loose. Prelims foxing, otherwise neat, clean and bright. Autobiography of Aylward Edward Dingle, sailor and writer (1874-1947). He spent 22 years at sea, being shipwrecked five times and was castaway on St Paul Island. He was perhaps the only guest on the BBC's Desert Island Discs to have genuine experience of being a castaway.
