First edition, first impression. 192pp. In red cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 12mo. Very slightly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Top text block edge a tad dust dulled. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original bright and crisp dust jacket, a little rubbed on corners and spine ends. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Andrew Garve was one of the pseudonyms of journalist and crime writer, Paul Winterton, founder member of the Crime Writers' Association. The File on Lester (later republished under the title The Lester Affair) was one of his later novels.
