First UK edition, first impression (previously published in the USA, 1927). 182pp. In blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Top edge sprayed blue, all others edges deckled. 12mo. Cloth a little rounded at spine tips, text block edges dulled. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, not price clipped, toned and chapped along upper edge, 3 inch open tear with some loss on verso, some mild soiling visible on verso. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A sweet and delicate novel - if you have not read Robert Nathan, do so and if you have read one of his books, read another.
