2nd (revised) edition, second printing. 308pp, with 14 plate photographs, four in colour, and drawings, half tone plates and in text figures. In green cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, hint of fading on extreme edges. Some spotting on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, price clipped, a little bumped and rubbed at edges, in an old protective sleeve which itself has a tear on the verso, soiled on interior. No. 38 in Collins' New Naturalist series.
