In a later fine binding, half bound in red leather over marbled boards, five raised bands, gilt rules and gilt decorations on spine. 8vo. Small nick in paper on rear lower edge. Text block edges a little toned. Hint of toning in page margins and the very occasional faint spot, the final leaf of the publisher's adverts at end is browning. A very handsome first edition copy of Kipling's collection ten stories inspired by English history under the auspices of Puck, the 'oldest Old thing in England'.
