First edition, first impression. 216pp, colour plate frontispiece and line drawings in text. In orange cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine. 12mo. Cloth a little indented at corners and spine ends. Upper text block edge a little toned. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original illustrated dust wrapper, a little rubbed and bumped at edges, mildly sunned over spine and a little shelf wear visible on verso.
Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar sleeve fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
Frank Richards was one of the many pen names of Charles Hamilton (1876-1961), one of the most popular and prolific authors of boy's school stories and long-running series stories featuring recurring characters.
