First edition. 310pp, with [8] leaves of plate illustrations. In red cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. 8vo. Cloth is faded, heavily so over the spine, with gilt titles dull. Gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Internally a hint of toning to endpapers else neat, clean and tight.
Autobiography of Russian/British concert pianist, Mark Hambourg (1879-1960). With his brothers, the cellist Boris Hambourg and violinist Jam Hambourg, Hambourg moved with his family from his birthplace in Russia to London in 1889 as refugees from the Tsarist regime.
