First edition.  288, [8, publisher's catalogue], with 32 black and white plate illustrations.  In tan cloth-covered boards with black titles on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth is worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, cracked over joints and fraying at spine ends.  Some spotting on text block edges.  Endpapers lightly spotted, with a gift inscription neatly inked on front free endpaper, pages a little creamy else internally neat, clean and tight.  Newspaper clipping regarding the discovery of paintings at the former house of John Wesley (another hiding place?) loosely laid in.
