Text in French. First edition.  Single volume from Contet's magnificent 22 volume photographic survey of the architecture and interior decoration of the grand old hotels of Paris, arranged quarter by quarter.  Portfolio with essay on architecture and interior decorations of the grand hotels in the quarter of Paris, followed by 39 of the at least 40 loose leaf plates called for (please note at least one plate absent). Portfolio boards are quarter green cloth over marbled paper-covered boards, with gilt lettering on the spine, closed with green cloth ribbon. Elephant folio (approximately 19 inches by 13 inches).  Portfolio is worn, backstrip faded and broken with boards almost detached, a little rubbed on corners and around spine, endpapers a little tanned, crude tape repair to inner hinges.   Leaves and plates have some light toning and spotting, especially at edges, with the occasional mark or sign of use.

Very hard to find.  We have several volumes of this series in stock and a run of complete volumes - please inquire for duscounts if considering ordering more than one at time.
