Undated but circa 1920. xvi, 326pp, with colour plate frontispiece behind a captioned tissue guard, 39 further colour plates with captioned tissued guards, full page monochrome illustrations and further illustrations in text, all by Arthur Rackham. Publisher's original cloth, gilt lettering on spine. Top edge sprayed red. Large 8vo. Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, occasionally so on edges, sunned over spine fading gilt titles. Some mild spotting on fore and lower edges. Internally some faint and occasional spotting else neat, clean and tight.
Handsome and imposing volume containing many fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm, including Hans in Luck, Briar Rose, The Goosegirl, Hansel & Gretel etc.
