First edition, first printing. 326pp. Purple cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. 8vo. Cloth is worn and unevenly faded, sunned over spine obscuring lettering, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Text block edges darkening. Some faint and occasional spotting on first and last few leaves, pages a little creamy. Bookplate of Arthur Jefferies on front paste down, and his name written in pencil on front free endpaper.
