Fifty-seventh issue. 32, cxcvi, 2128pp, with occassional illustrations, one large folding map showing the dioceses of England and Wales and one fold-out advertisement for the William Morris Company with colour illustrations of their stained glass. In black buckram boards extensively decorated with blind toolwork, gilt lettering on spine. 4to. Covers are worn with a few mild marks, cloth cracked along spine joints, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and tips of a sunned spine. Upper text block edge a little dust darkened, remaing text block edges have faint and occasional spotting. Hinges cracked but holding. Previous owner's name inked on a creased title page, some faint and occasional spotting and occasional signs of handling else internally neat and clean.
A mammoth volume, very heavy (circa 2.5). A very good working/reference copy albeit no longer pretty and robust.
