398pp. Green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles (very slightly rounded at spine tips). A little page toning else internally, bookplate on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean and tight. In matt dust jacket (a little rubbed and faded at edges), now protected in archival quality mylar wrapper. A translation by W H Mitchell of the original French edition of 1894. It was written by a Carthusian Monk, Dom Francois de Sales Pollien, a native of Chevenoz in Haute Savoie, who gave the manuscript to Fr Joseph Tissot. Tissot edited the book and saw it through to publication in 1894. A very good, early edition of this perennially inspiring work.
