Spine illustration. Top edge gilt, all others deckled. Boards worn at edges, rubbed through at corners and spine tips. Front endpapers bear two bookplates, one of Oliver Brett, the 3rd Viscount Esher; the second is that of his son, Lionel Brett, later the 4th Viscount Esher. Crayon mark on p viii.
