Not dated but c 1950. Publisher's cloth boards (a little worn and soiled at edges. Internally neat and firm. There is an additional recipe penciled in opposite the title page, and the last two blank pages carry the handwritten story of a tragic collapse of a marriage in the early 1950s. A collection of meat-free recipes developed by Mrs Pitcairn-Knowles, for 20 years the cook at the Riposo health spa in Hastings, Sussex.
