2nd printing of the first edition. 224pp. Orange cloth covered boards with black titles on spine (boards worn and rubbed, rounded at corners and spine ends, faded, mildly soiled). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings, else internally well thumbed pages are clean, bright and tight, with hint of toning on endpapers. In its original, vintage dust jacket (rubbed at edges, bumped at corners, crumpled at head of spine, where there is also an old interior tape repair). In an archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. A Uranium Bomb mystery, in which Peter Gayleigh's old antagonist and friend, Chief Inspector Herrington of Scotland Yard, sets Gayleigh the task of frustrating a famous Nazi spy's attempts to obtain details of the extraordinary new explosive. The result is almost as shattering as that astonishing bomb which brought the war in the Far East so quickly to an end.
