Red cloth boards, paper spine label, top edge gilt, all other edges rough (boards a tad worn at edges and rounded at corners, spine label lightly chipped and faded). Handsome, two colour title page, with illustrated frontispiece opposite and 11 further tissue-guarded engravings, all by Stanley L Wood. Integral ex-libris plate completed. Printed on high quality paper. Internally, strained on endpapers, else beautifully fresh, flawless and clean inside, barring one small nick on a page edge. The Aldine edition of Sterne's 'A Sentimental Journey', an edition limited to 650 copies for England, with a further 300 printed for the American market. A lovely vintage volume.
