iv, 716 [4] pages, numerous full page engraved illustrations, 13 fold out songs with lyrics and music. Quarter bound in calfskin leather over card covered boards, five raised bands to spine, (heavily worn all round, cracked and chipped away at edges, corner leather eroded and spine leather dry and cracked at joints and spine tips, softened and scuffed at corners). Internally, previous owner's name on front endpaper, in copperplate hand (reads Anne Skevington, No., Yeaverly), pages toned, some with small chips and creases at edges, some spotting, some fold outs have been mis-folded upon return, a few strained gutters. Generally clean and binding holding firm. Volume XXXII of the Lady's Magazine, comprising all 12 monthly issues published in 1801. Each issue contains a selection of articles regarding history and world events, customs and opinions, political reflections, foreign news, home news, letters and correspondence and poetical essays. Each issue contains at least one song with music and lyrics, a number of them attributing Handel as the composer. Other articles which feature in this bound volume include "The Hermit of the Cliff, A Tale"; "An Account of Women of Chio"; 'Parisian Fashions'; 'History of Robert the Brave'; 'Emily Veronne'; 'On Intemperance'; 'The First Navigator'; 'Sketch of the Life of Kotzebue'; 'Manners and Character of the Russians'; 'Fete at St Ives'; 'On the Prospect of Peace'; On the Circassian Women'; etc. Does not have the fashion plates present in some editions. Thick 8vo.
