8th printing. 266pp plus central section of plate illustrations. Coloured maps on endpapers. In red cloth boards with black lettering on spine (boards are very slightly faded, with a hint of rounding at spine ends). Internally neat, clean and bright barring some light toning on endpapers. Tight and square. In its original dust jacket, lightly chapped along upper edge, a little worn on other edges, with small nick at base of a lightly sunned spine. A record of Halliburton's flight around the world in his 'Flying Carpet', and during which he lived with the Foreign Legion and had a strange encounter with slave dealers in Timbuctoo; flew to a height of 18000 feet to photograph Mount Everest; and was entertained by head-hunters in Borneo.
