140pp, 100 black and white plates (plus frontispiece). Quarter bound in cream cloth over beige cloth-covered boards, brown design on front, brown titles on front and spine. 4to. . Spine ends rubbed and rounded, board edges lightly rubbed with chipping to bottom edges, corners heavily rubbed with some loss of cloth, light soiling to boards. Text block top edge dusty with remaining edges lightly tanned. Readers folds to top corners of a number of pages. Heavy tanning to edges of endpapers. Internally pages are slightly tanned otherwise neat, clean, bright and tight. Beautifully illustrated with 246 drawings, photographs and maps on black and white plates throughout the volume.
