Volume III (of III) only. 274pp, [2]. In full brown leather, decorated and textured. Marbled text block edges and endpapers. Engraved illustration as frontispiece. 16mo. Leather worn, rubbed at edges, rounded on corners, backstrip partially absent. Hinges cracked. Front free endpaper creased. A little spotting on first and last few pages, patch toning on title page. The Mirror was a weekly periodical, on the model of the ' Spectator', established by Henry Mackenzie and others in Edinburgh in 1779. It ran from 23 January 1779 to 27 May 1880, when it was reissued in volume form. It was the first Scottish periodical of its kind.
