Undated but circa 1930. 1024pp, plus portrait plate frontispiece and circa 60 further monochrome plate illustrations. In green cloth-covered boards with black titles front and spine. 8vo. . Boards a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, lightly rubbed on spine joints, one corner lightly bumped. Text block edges darkened. Endpapers lightly toned with a little spotting; some toning to page margins throughout. A lovely vintage volume presenting an approach to gardening the old-fashioned way, using traditional methods of cultivation and minimal use of chemicals and artificial additives.
