This edition complete in two volumes. 256pp; 256pp. Extensively illustrated throughout, with many full and half page cartoons. Both volumes uniformly bound in plain dark blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spines. Decorative endpapers. Title pages printed in red and black. Small folios (about 13 inches tall). Cloth is gently rubbed at corners, rubbed and rounded at spine tips, with a few mild marks. Text block edges darkened and toned. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A selection of Punch cartoons showing society figures, all by the renown Punch artist and writer George du Maurier (author of Trilby and grandfather of Daphne du Maurier).
