Text in French. Volume two only. 628pp [24]. Fully bound in brown patterned calf's leather, five raised bands on spine, two red spine labels, with gilt lettering and decorations. All edges sprayed red. Marbled endpapers. 16mo. Boards rubbed all round edges, rounded on corners and spine ends, with some marks, dry over spine, raised bands rubbed. Ink stain on fore-edge. Small ink doodle on first true leaf, some faint and occasional foxing, else internally neat, clean and tight. A History of Rome from its foundation to the Battle of Actium (31 BC) and the end of the Republic.
