xiv, 348pp. In blood red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles stamped on spine. 12mo. Cloth is worn and marked, lightly bumped on corners, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Spine cloth and titles faded. Front hinge cracked resulting in volume being a little loose. Text block edges a little toned, slightly affecting page margins. Ex university library with usual markings on front endpapers and copyright page only. Two previous owners' names, dated 1895 and 1902, on the front free endpaper. Occasional discrete pencil annotations in page margins. The Sermons of Mr Jowett, Master of Balliol College from 1870. Most of the sermons in this collection are from his time as Master although a few are of an earlier date.
