Deluxe edition. One of a signed, numbered edition limited to 75 copies, printed on handmade paper, this being No. 48, with the author's signature under the limitation statement. xii, I-IV, 292pp, with numerous black and white illustrations and some page decorations and decorated initial lettering. Extra illustrated over other editions with four additional illustrations, two of which are printed in red and black. The illustrations in this edition do not appear in text but are gathered together in a single section. Quarter bound in vellum over blue paper-covered boards. Top edge gilt, other edges deckled Large 4to. . Boards heavily rubbed and bumped on corners, gently rubbed on edges, some soiling on vellum spine, a little shelf worn all over. Ex university library, with library bookplate on front paste down and call number neatly written on copyright page. Also a previous owner's bookplate on front paste down. A little spotting on first and last few pages else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Some pages uncut. A lovely, lavishly made copy and important reference work on printer's ornaments.
