Not dated but circa 1920. New Edition. xvi, 1680, [10]pp, with 32 colour plate and nearly 700 other illustrations. Patterned, blind-stamped quarter maroon cloth over olive green cloth boards, gilt titles to spine. Speckled edges. 8vo. Boards little rubbed at corners and edges, a few mild marks on boards, mild crease along backstrip. Internally, a little scattered and mild spotting first and last couple of leaves else neat, clean, bright and tight. Contemporary adverts at front and rear (for, for example, Howard's Soda, Marie Elizabeth Tinned Sardines and Lea and Perrins Sauce). A very good, early edition of this perennial favourite.
